So extra extra sleep, lots of liquids (water, tea, electrolyte/vitamin infused water,etc), a ton of kleenex and essential oils on full blast.
One thing I will definitley be having multiple times today is my Grandma’s detox tea, she passed along to me the recipe a few years ago & she swears by it! If you haven’t met my grandma, well she is AWESOME and has more energy than me at 72 years old– like it’s NUTS. So what she tells me I do not take lightly. With that said,
MY GRANDMA’S MAGIC TEA:
2tsp lemon juice (I use more like an entire lemon)
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
2 tsp of honey
a sprinkle of cinnamon
1-2 cups hot water
My Grandma’s “magic tea” is wonderful when you are facing a sore throat, runny nose, cough, stomach ache, bloating, any uncomfortable feeling in your body. You can drink this tea everyday as a part of your diet– it works like a detox tea.
These ingredients really help fight off all the nasty bugs inside of us when we are feeling ill. Who else loves to call their mom & or grandma when they don’t feel good? They make me feel so comforted. I’m forever a kid.
2 lbs beef (chopped into smaller pieces for a stew like dinner)
Chopped carrots (I purchased the pre-sliced carrots and threw a whole 1/2 lb bag in
1-2 stalks of celery (chopped)
Season to your liking! (I seasoned with Garlic powder, garlic salt, pepper, chilli powder, herbs, and a smidge of olive oil–made a very tasty meat)
I put all ingredients in my crock pot on high for about 5 hours and mixed with a random pasta I had in the house.
I LOVE A HEARTY MEAL . Especially when it’s super cold outside & I am feeling under the weather, It makes me feel very full and sleepy which is perfect because when you are sick you need to relax. Being sick is a great excuse to just chilllllllllll.
Last but not least,
Vitamin C does nothing once you are sick. Yup, that’s right. So stop wasting your money on those vitamin-c packets ($20 a pack? no thanks) and pick up some Zincam.
Vitamin C is amazing for prevention of a cold and strengthening your immune system but it wont shorten the duration of your cold at all, however, Zinc will. 🙂
I woke up with a cold about 2 days ago & I am starting to feel better with each passing hour. I feel however, it has a lot to do with my attitude. I asked my boyfriend, “what can I do for all this pressure I am feeling in my head?” He goes, “Suck it up”. He is exactly right!! Lol.
Anything that you can’t avoid you have to learn how to cope with it without driving yourself into complete negativity. Life is full of sacrifices & uncomfortable moments– learn to make the best and forget the rest/ get comfortable being uncomfortable!
I will be foam rolling like crazy & trying to get a yoga class in today because my body is SO sore from my full body workout I did two days ago! Check it out here if you haven’t. It’s a great way to kick your butt!
