TODAY I’M GETTING RIGHT TO IT, JUICING IS THE BEES KNEES.
I juice vegetables nearly every single day. Why? Well at this point I simply just LOVE drinking this colorful concoction out of a cutie little cup and I feel so good like 30 minutes after drinking it.
FYI, we need like a TON of vegetables every day to fuel our body with the necessary nutrients it needs just to function at top notch levels. LIKE AN INSANE AMOUNT (9 SERVINGS TO BE EXACT), if you aren’t stuffing your face with cauliflower & asparagus RIGHT NOW you are probably already behind on your daily intake. Just saying.
I love to juice: kale, spinach, beet, carrots, cucumber, celery, lemon, orange, ginger, jalapeño, anyyything I can get my hands on really.
I use the Hamilton Beach Juice Extractor , it’s around $50 and will change your HEALTH GAME!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Will juicing make me fat?
Vegetable juice still has macros/calories, so as long as you are taking the calories into consideration and not drinking the juice like water along with your lunch you will be able to treat it like a snack or meal (depending on what you have juiced). Weight gain happens when you are consuming more calories than you have burned. My advice as always is track your food !!
Can I juice fruit with the vegetables?
Drinking fruit juice is like drinking STRAIGHT UP SUGAR! When you juice you are seperating the fruit from the skin which is a powerhouse of nutrients. I don’t recommend juicing a bunch of fruits unless you like to spike up your blood sugar. If you want to add maybe half of an apple to your veggie juice to sweeten it up & then eat the other half of the apple, that works! But fruit juice is JUST SUAGR.
Don’t I need fiber from greens?
We do need fiber from greens & juicing completely seperates the fiber from the juice. HOWEVER, when our body consumes vegetables it does the same thing. Our body seperates the nutrients and the fiber and sends it off to different places and when it does this some of the nutrients aren’t absorbed. “Since the juicer has done all of the masticating for you, the plant’s nutrients are immediately absorbed into your intestinal walls.” -Mike Cernovich on “Fit Juice”.
When we juice the vegetables we are consuming twice the amount of nutrients (LIKE EVERY VITAMIN). We DO need fiber especially for proper digestion and overall colon health so it’s important to make sure you are eating salads and other fiber filled foods OR making a smoothie & blending your veggies and fruits once in a while to reach that daily intake as well (more on how to eat fiber on this post)!
